My Inspirational Person
William
Shakespeare
William
Shakespeare was a renowned English poet, playwright, and actor born in 1564 and
raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. He is widely regarded
as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's greatest
dramatist. He is often called England's national poet. His surviving works
consist of 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other
poems. His plays have been translated into every major living language, and are
performed more often than those of any other playwright. One of the top-of-mind
tragedy romantic stories is Romeo and Juliet by the legendary writer William
Shakespeare.
William
Shakespeare was not only a prolific writer, he is said to have introduced over
one thousand words and phrases into the English language. Some people today
reading Shakespeare for the first time complain that the language is difficult
to understand, yet we are still using hundreds of words and phrases coined by
him in our everyday conversation. phrases like ‘to be or not to be’, ‘break the
ice‘, and ‘fair play’, what’s less well known is the number of Shakespeare
phrases still in common usage today. It’s unlikely that native English speakers
are able to get through a day without using one or more Shakespeare sayings in
one way or another, without even thinking about it.
